The post/s of Training & Helpdesk Advisor plays a pivotal role in DIA’s provision of advice, guidance and professional development to our members and the postholder/s will play a key part in a core area of our member proposition.
Primarily the postholder will be part of the team of experienced advisors running our helpdesk and will deal with the many calls and emails we receive every day from professional trainers working across the vehicle and licence categories, and also other key stakeholders (such as the general public) looking for advice on driver and rider training.
The successful applicant may also be involved (from time to time) in advising on member issues with the regulator and other relevant authorities, including forming part of the team supporting, advising and representing members facing misconduct proceedings, licence removals, tribunals etc.
This post will also support the development and delivery of our training and professional development programme – helping to deliver existing courses and workshops and also helping build our offering of professional development and training opportunities for our members and creating a framework for Continuing Professional Development. They may also be involved from time to time in delivering training to occupational driver and rider training clients.
The postholder will also have the opportunity to work on wider road safety education projects such as those we carry out on behalf of the Department for Transport and Highways England.
This role works closely with other Training and Helpdesk Advisors, Training Manager (who nominally line manages the role) and DIA’s General Manager – as well as with the DIA’s wider team and CEO. There will also be opportunities to work with colleagues and stakeholders across the industry such as DVSA, training project partners such as Highways England, Department for Transport etc.
Hours: Flexible – this role is offered as either a full time role to a single candidate or a job share role to two part time candidates.
Cover is needed for our office opening hours of Monday to Friday 8am-6pm but team members generally work either an 8-4pm shift, or 9-5pm.
