ADIs needed for new DfT Cycle Savvy Driving project

The DfT is looking to recruit 4,000 ADIs to its driving instructor cycle awareness pilot.

Driving instructors will be offered bespoke training to ensure cyclists’ safety is at the forefront of their minds when they teach new drivers, in a pilot initiative launched by DfT.

The driving instructor cycle awareness pilot was developed by Bikeability Trust and the DIA and addresses the current lack of cycle awareness learning resources for ADIs and learner drivers and provides resources ADIs can use for their own professional development and while teaching.

This pilot project offers free online and practical training for approved driving instructors, starting on 7 May 2021. The DfT is looking to recruit 4,000 ADIs, who can register here between 7 May and 30 September 2021.

All participants will be entered into a prize draw to win one of five £100 Amazon vouchers.
